Ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections 2022, the central railway has come out with 11 flood-prone locations for their repair work all over the city so there are no delays in the train and cancellations at the time of monsoon. The 11 flood-prone locations include Masjid station, Byculla station, Matunga workshop, Varcharaj lane area, Dhobighat, Chunabhatti, Wadala station, Mukhyadhyapak Culvert, Meethi River, Brahmanwadi Nallah, Karve Nagar, Kanjur Marg Nallah, Hariyali Nallah and Usha Nallah.

“A total of 11 flood-prone locations have been selected and this was done looking at the flood that occurred last year, so it was decided by us that special attention needs to be paid here,” stated the Senior officer of Central Railway. Before the monsoon pipe review meeting all these water logging locations were discussed in detail. In November, a joint meeting was held at the  headquarters of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) which was accompanied by many senior officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Chief Iqbal Singh Chahal and the Manager of Division Shalabh Goel too attended the meeting.

A railway officer stated that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will take the bureau of the railways before the rains start to not disrupt train traffic. A Byculla station was also one of the most important water logging stations among the 11, the Central railway officer. The other point of discussion in the meeting was Brahmanwadi downstream Nallah which comprises of slow sluggish flow due to the confluence of Nehru Nagar and Kamghar Nallah at an around 90-degree angle. “Feasibility study will have to be done for the widening of nallah at the confluence of Kamgar and Nehru Nagar Nallah, for the mini gate pump,” stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
