BMC demolished the turf in Borivali

Mumbai: An astro turf was demolished by BMC's R Central Ward on Tuesday after encroaching on 15,000 square meters in Saibaba Nagar in Borivali.  Civic officials said private individuals are being exploited commercially.  An FIR has been registered in the case at Borivali police station.  A great drama broke out. 

At one point the JCB of the civic group was locked inside the turf.  The demolition process can continue only after the intervention of the police.  According to senior municipal officials, notices had been issued several times to demolish the turf.  On Tuesday, civil servants and Labour staff arrived in Turf to take action to demolish a JCB. 

But they were stopped by a few private individuals who won a hammer at the JCB in addition to the mobile phone.  "We have studied the case and we found that the large plot has not only been encroached and upon by private individuals, but has also been commercially abused over the past few years.  "It is unfortunate that the staffs were treated like this.

At one point during the demolition operation, a few people locked their JCB inside the turf. The civil authorities had to ask the police to intervene in the matter as the process continues."  Eventually we set up a board outside the Turf Gate and they said the plot was open to the public and the perpetrators would be prosecuted. "
