The BMC has chosen to utilize a drone to spray disinfectants on mosquito breeding areas that are extremely congested. BMC's pesticide department has also launched a special fortnightly blitz in dengue-prone regions. This department has discovered 1422 breeding sites infested with malaria larvae and 12,074 dengue spots in the last four months.

Every year, the insecticide department manually traces and kills mosquito breeding places to lessen the problem. Humans, on the other hand, have a tough time getting to some regions. Last year, the BMC used drones to spray disinfectants in inaccessible mill areas of Worli, Lower Parel, and Mahalaxmi.

From January to April 2022, the pesticides department inspected 11,924 societies and 1,76,161 places, according to the data. A total of 2488 residential and business complexes were served with the notice. 236 charges were filed in court against persons who did not take steps to prevent mosquito breeding. During this time, BMC discovered and removed over 14,000 mosquito breeding places across the city by removing 1599 trash tyres and 97,611 objects.
