The BMC has decided to launch a campaign to raise awareness about slum area rubbish disposal. The civic organisation will show brief films that provide information about numerous issues brought on by the disposal of rubbish in drains, nullahs, and creeks. A BMC official claims that the campaign's main objective is to increase awareness among members of the low-income group (LIG) who often discard their trash in open sewers rather than using public trash cans.

According to a BMC representative, the short film will motivate viewers to sort their trash and put it in trash cans so that it can be recycled and treated. The 60–180 second short film uses real imagery and animation to highlight the effects of drainage blockages and how they will benefit the public if they are stopped.

For this reason, the BMC has released a tender for the appointment of a filmmaker. The video will be published by the first week of December on the BMC's official website, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter, according to the civic official. In addition, it will be shown on digital billboards in different public locations.

The people of the eastern suburbs' Govandi, Deonar, Mankhurd, Cheetah Camp Chembur, and Shivaji Nagar regions are their main targets, according to the BMC. According to the representative, "Our primary goal is to alter the thinking of those who live close to the stream and large nullahs. They ought to be aware of the implications of littering the creek."
