BMC Corporators proposing Notice of Motion (NM) increases before the BMC elections

Shiv Sena corporator from Ward 1 (Dahisar), Abhishek Ghosalkar has a unique proposal to curb smoking among the city’s youngsters. He wants to make permits mandatory for purchasing cigarettes as this would prove a deterrent for youngsters.
Also in his NM he proposed that the city’s burgeoning pigeon population be fed birth control pills.
BJP corporator and Deputy Mayor Alka Kerkar’s notice of motion that was moved last week. Kerkar wants to the BMC to sterilize cats just like dogs as the feline population in the city is out of control. Kerkar said that just like dogs, stray cats too are a menace and the BMC must step in to curb their population.
To be heard and show improved performance before the elections , the corporators have increased the frequency of such proposals
