BMC has submitted four suggestions to improve the state of Mumbai's numerous playgrounds, with a budget of Rs. 9.79 crores. The proposals will be presented to the standing committee for approval at the next meeting. These grounds will include a running track, an open gym, a football field, a volleyball court, and a tennis court. According to the proposal, constructing chowkies for security guards and gardeners, repairing work on the entrance gate and walls, arranging for sewage water to be passed, installing electric lamps, waste bins, and greenery work, as well as a jogging track and volleyball and tennis courts, should all be completed.
M/s Ranuja Dev Corporation has also been awarded the Sahar Tak ground, Kunti Park Udyan at Marol Village, a site in Chakala gaon that is ready to work for Rs. 3.25 crores. M/S Rathod Poteries and Nurseries won the bid for Versova's Jagannath Pede Ground with a proposal of Rs. 1.72 crores. These plans are all about reviving Shivsena's election budget. "I acknowledge that the playground situation is awful, but not a single penny would be spent on playground rejuvenation," said BJP corporator Vinod Mishra. "The ruling party is pushing this idea to benefit select contractors before the election," claimed Ravi Raja, the BMC Congress group leader.
