BMC collects 40 crore rupees, for violating mask wearing rules

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has collected Rs 40 crore from 20 lakh criminals for not wearing masks during the covid-19 epidemic, civic body said on March 21.  The ANI reported that fines were levied on those who violated the state's COVID - 19 rules, which generally require wearing a mask from April 2020 to March 2021. 

Mumbai has reported an increase of 3,775 new COVID-19 cases of corona virus in India.  The total number of infections in the city in the last 24 hours has risen to 362,654.  The number of cases and container zones in the city has been steadily rising for the past six days.  BMC closed 316 buildings.  The number of active control areas has increased to 40. 

According to the Maharashtra Health Department, the state has reported 30,535 new Kovid-19 cases, 11,314 recoveries and 99 deaths in the last 24 hours.  The total number of infections in the state is 2,479,682 (24.72 lakh), including 210,120 active cases and 2,214,867 recoveries.
