BMC clarifies rules after the state announced relaxations
After the Maharashtra government declaring easing of curbs in some parts of the state where the caseload is decreasing, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) made it very clear that though the curbs have been lifted but the city will continue to follow the restrictions of the night curfew which is from 11 pm to 5 am after which there would not be any restrictions on the movement of people from 5 am to 11 pm but any gathering is not permitted at all times.

This relaxation came as a relief for all the citizens as the state is in lockdown for quite a long time now. As soon as the relaxations were announced the government soon issued a clarification on Tuesday stating that the night curfew in the city between 11 pm and 5 am will continue to remain. As per the newly framed guidelines, all shops whether essential or non-essential will be permitted to open up till 10 pm and the restaurants and malls within the malls will be remaining shut, clarified the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The relaxations further stated that hotels and restaurants will be permitted to open up till 4 pm on all days including weekends for dine-in. Earlier, the restaurants were only permitted to function their operation on weekdays but not weekends. Except for the swimming pool and some other activities which involve physical contact all other sports and outdoor activities have been permitted to function by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The order which was issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner IS Chahal stated that “Except for some relaxations, all other activities will be functioning according  to the rules imposed earlier which include functioning of private offices, malls, and theatres followed by the opening of public grounds and gardens.”
