BMC chief Iqbal Singh Chahal plans to vaccinate the entire city in 60 days

Mumbai: A bid to strengthen the vaccination process in Mumbai, Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has said that the city will import one crore doses of the Russian Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V. Although we have already received responses from three bidders on Tuesday, we are following the deadline extended to May 25th.
 
Iqbal Singh Chahal said that the three recommendations we received were one crore Sputnik doses each. Works to collect other vaccines such as Modena and Pfizer. The Mumbai Civil Body is estimated to spend Rs 700 crore to buy the vaccines. Speaking to a TV channel, Chahal said that once the city receives 15 million vaccine shots, it plans to vaccinate the entire city within the next 60 days.
 
He said he was confident they would be able to prevent a third wave of the virus. A single dose of Sputnik V costs Rs. 995. Deepak Sapra, Senior Executive, Drug Manufacturer, took the first shot of vaccines. About 60,000 doses of the second batch of Russia's Covid-19 vaccine Sputnik V arrived at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Sunday. Reddy's Laboratories reported. Earlier, 150,000 doses of Sputnik V vaccine reached Hyderabad.
