BMC Chief Chahal Says no to political pressure behind transfers of officials

For moving senior employees around, the BMC administration has drawn criticism. Iqbal Singh Chahal, the administrator of the BMC, has now broken his silence and refuted all claims that these moves were motivated by politics. On Wednesday, he clarified, "The moves are merely an administrative process and not under any political pressure.
 
Ajit Kumbhar, a Joint Commissioner, was recently shifted by the BMC administration to the Vigilance division. The education department, which was formerly under Kumbhar's control, has been assigned to Deputy Municipal Commissioner Keshav Ubhale of vigilance. In the past two months, the BMC administration has reassigned at least dozens of personnel. The civic chief refuted all of the accusations since the significant reorganisation has come under fire.
