BMC Budget 2022: For the first time, the Civic Body increases health spending by 46.33 percent

The Health Sector earned a whopping 46.63 percent increase in the BMC annual budget to help citizens better their health throughout the ongoing pandemic. The Health Budget is expected to be Rs 6933.75 crore or 15.09 percent of the overall budget. Medical infrastructure has received a lot of attention in this year's budget, with a total budget allocation of Rs 1464.35 crore for the development, redevelopment, and building of 16 Municipal Hospitals and Health Centres.
 
Shiv Yog Kendra: A Rs 30 crore 'Better Health through Yoga' programme including 200 Shiv Yog centres. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will be the first in the country to establish an early intervention and rehabilitation centre for differently-abled special children. This venture has a budget of Rs 14 crore.
 
With a budget of Rs 5.50 crore, the indexing of scanned data of 'A' Grade records of Birth and Death reports dates back to 1880. Upgrading dispensaries will cost Rs 257.50 crore, standardizing 13 dispensaries will cost Rs 11 crore, and maternity homes will cost Rs 35.38 crore.
