BMC asks the company to set up oxygen plant’s at 16 sites immediately, else face penalty
In a recent letter written by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on July 19, stating the Highway Construction Company was to complete the work of installing 16 oxygen generation plants at nine civic-run hospitals within the time frame as the work already is running behind the schedule. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in the letter stated that as the result of the non-completion of work they will have to penalise the company.

To bring down dependence on private suppliers drastically so that the money is saved, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) awarded this contract to the Highway Construction Company on June 16, for installation of oxygen generation plants at nine civic-run hospitals- 16 locations in 30 days. After the decision was made the 16 sites were handed to the Highway Construction Company on June 16, final site clearance was received by all plots between June 16 and June 25.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had then stated that it would calculate the deadline for work at five sites as of July 25, while the remaining will be between July 16 and July 25. “It is now instructed to the company to complete the work immediately without fail otherwise, the penalty will be levied to you as per terms and conditions of the tender. Moreover, an action deemed fit will be taken for the lapses, delay, and non-compliance, if found any, as per tender conditions,” stated the letter.
