According to guidelines issued by Brihan Mumbai Muncipal Corporation, public Holi celebrations on March 28 and 29 will be cancelled to diminish the spread of the virus in the city. The BMC order comes in the wake of several other states banning or restricting Holi celebrations to prevent the spread of the virus. The state of Uttar Pradesh also has issued a new detailed order on Holi celebrations.
All district and division level officials have been directed to report high level infections from the Covid testing states of all those who come to UP during the Holi festival. Meanwhile, the Chandigarh government on Monday ordered a ban on Holi-related festivals.
