Mumbai Lockdown Update: BMC announce relaxations as Covid-19 cases decline
With the Covid-19 cases declining consecutively all over the city of Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) once again eased the restrictions by revising the guidelines on Monday.  The restrictions on gardens, beaches and seafronts have been lifted and they will be operating till 10 pm on all days. A notification that was released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated that though the restrictions have been lifted people should follow all Covid-19 regulations which include social distancing and proper use of a mask.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has also warned people of strict actions if Covid-19 protocols are not followed.
Earlier the decision by the government allowed citizens who have taken both doses of the Covid- 19 vaccine to travel on local trains. Earlier only those commuters were permitted to travel through locals who fall under the category of essential services, government, and semi-government employees irrespective of Covid vaccination.

In the last month when in some areas the Covid- 19 positivity rate was noticed low, the Maharashtra government eased the curbs there. In a later development, it permitted hotels, and restaurants to operate till 10 pm. Permission of reopening malls was also given starting from August 15, but only to those citizens who have completed both doses of the Covid- 19 vaccine. The capacity for the operation of hotels and restaurants has only been allowed to 50 percent.
