BMC Elections 2022
Lifestyle-related disorders such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and depression are on the rise as a result of rising work pressure and stress in everyday life. The BMC has decided to start free yoga lessons in the city on June 1 in order to promote a healthy lifestyle, ease stress, and keep people healthy. On Thursday, the civic body called for expressions of interest from reputable yoga classes in the city to be appointed to hold yoga lessons from 6 A.M. to 8 A.M. every day.
The BMC declared in its 2022-23 budget that 200 Shiv Yoga Kendras would be established throughout the city. According to sources, the number of yoga centres will be determined by the public response. The civic body will establish yoga centres once yoga classes express an interest in providing professional yoga teachers. Classes for a minimum of 30 persons can be held at BMC schools, marriage halls, ward offices, or any public open space.
Mats would be required for each participant. Citizens will be able to contact the civic body via a special email address for the classes. "Each yoga teacher would be paid Rs 1000 per session by the BMC, and courses will be held five days a week." "These sessions would be monitored by the local ward offices," stated auxiliary Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar.
