At Dharavi, Aaditya Thackeray opens India's largest community toilet block

On Wednesday, Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray opened India's largest community toilet block in Dharavi. The centre will provide bathing facilities, RO drinking water, laundry service, and other amenities to approximately 50,000 inhabitants.

"We opened a Suvidha Kendra in Dharavi today, with 111 toilet seats, making it India's largest community toilet block. We are dedicated to raising citizens' living standards by providing them with simple access to clean water, hygiene, and sanitation "Thackeray announced on Twitter.

"By focusing on sustainability, the centre will help save 6.5 million litres of fresh water each year," he stated.

The facility has an on-site greywater treatment system, as well as solar panels for electricity generating, according to Thackeray.

There is also a greywater treatment plant on-site, and the facility generates energy using solar panels. He wrote, "I thank @HUL News & @HSBC IN for working with @mybmc to build India's largest centre!"

Similar Suvidha Kendras will be built in Ghatkopar, Dharavi, Chembur, Bandra, Santacruz, and Govandi, according to him.
