Mumbai: BMC says Antibody Cocktail Medication Treatment Successful
On Monday, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) announced that the initial trial of a cocktail of two antibody drugs - Casirvimab and Imdevimab which took place on more than 200 Covid-19 patients has been successful. The patients in Mumbai’s Seven Hills Hospital were seen showing extraordinary recovery when given the monoclonal antibodies stated by the civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).  
 
“Oxygen needy patients are only 0.5 percent and the mortality sees a reduction of 70 percent. In the past need for hospitalization for Covid 19 patients was 13 to 14 days which has been now reduced to five to six days after the medication”, stated the Municipal Corporation.  As of now, 212 Covid 19 patients have been given the medication with saline. The administration is working through a detailed study. 
 
"101 patients in the age group of 18 to 45 years, 45 patients in the age group of 45 to 59 and 53 patients in the age group of 60 years out of the 199 patients, 74 patients with comorbidities,” said Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) in a statement. 
The infection the 199 patients had, were mild to moderate said the Municipal Corporation. 
 
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, in a statement, said that "199 out of 179 patients had a fever, 158 patients had cough with fever and four patients were in an oxygen support”. After the treatment there was a surprising recovery in the patients and also the hospitalization time was reduced. The patients were kept in hospital after the dosage to monitor the condition.
