Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh has been hospitalized at the JJ hospital for shoulder surgery. Deshmukh, his staffers Sanjeev Palande, Kundan Shinde and dismissed officer Sachin Vaze were recently granted custody to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a corruption case filed by the CBI against Deshmukh by a Mumbai Court.

Deshmukh was admitted to the orthopaedic department on Saturday after complaining of shoulder pain, according to hospital sources. "Deshmukh was admitted to the hospital on Saturday and is currently being investigated. By Tuesday morning, we'll have a better idea of what the next steps in his medical treatment will be "According to a hospital doctor.

After obtaining permission from a special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court, a CBI team questioned Deshmukh for three days inside Arthur Road jail in connection with the corruption case filed by the agency against him. In this case, the CBI detained Santosh Jagtap, a Thane resident, in October of last year. Jagtap's facilities were searched by a CBI team in August, and Rs 9 lakh was taken.

According to the investigation, Jagtap acted as a middleman in the transfer and posting of government officials. On April 21, last year, the CBI filed a corruption case against Deshmukh and others, alleging an "effort to derive an undue advantage for the inappropriate and dishonest performance of public duty"
