Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh feels ED's Investigation against him not justified: Lawyer Kamlesh Ghumre
In the latest update from the money laundering case former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh thinks that whatever the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is investigating against his case is not justifiable thus investigation is not joined by him, stated his lawyer. In a press conference, Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh’s lawyer Kamlesh Ghumre also claimed that the investigation which is led by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) seems like a “harassment” investigation rather than a genuine.

In the money laundering case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had sent several summons to the former home minister asking him to record his statements but all the summons were skipped for the reason being health issues and the Vulnerability to Covid 19. Rather, he demanded the central agency to record his statement via video conferencing. Later on, the Former Home Minister also urged the Supreme Court to protect him from any violent action in the case. The case came to a point when CBI charged him with a corruption case related to the bribery filed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.

“The reason why the Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh is not joining the investigation is that the way the investigation is being led by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is not justifiable, the agency should at least ask us for the documents they need, there are so many digital platforms still the Enforcement Directorate asks the former to directly join the questioning.” Stated lawyer Kamlesh Ghumre. In the letter written by Param Bir Singh to the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, he stated that the former home minister had asked Sachin Waze to obtain over Rs 100 crore a month forcefully from bars and restaurants in Mumbai.
