The prime location in the city of Mumbai, Delhi and Goa owned by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has been attached by the Income Tax (IT) department as they were directly or indirectly linked to the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
The investigation wing of Maharashtra’s Income Tax (IT) department stated that the value of these attached properties which has been spread over three states stands at Rs 1000 crores. This action came soon after the department allegedly discovered an income which was unaccounted of around 184 crores during searches
Responding to these investigations, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar stated that these searches were politically motivated, this step by the Income Tax (IT) department is very wrong. Soon after the raid Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar’s lawyer Prashant Patil stated that there was no property related to the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and as of now, he hasn’t received any notice.
“The information coming in is a very false statement that the property of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was attached by the Income Tax (IT) department and one more thing that he also has not received any notice in this regard. There were some doubts related to the case so, the Income Tax (IT) department has clarified it, and soon an appropriate response will be given through legal means,” stated Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s lawyer Prashant Patil. In his 62 years of career, these allegations have cropped up his image and have attracted many investigations and central agencies against him.
