ED summoned Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his son again in money laundering case
The troubles for the Former Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh and his son Hrishikesh continue to rise as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned both of them in link with the alleged corruption and money laundering case.

On August 2, the Former Home Minister of Maharashtra Anil Deshmukh and his son will be present before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in person under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). On July 30 the Supreme Court declined the plea of granting the Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his son protection from arrest after which the summon was issued by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The case of alleged corruption and money laundering on the Former Home Minister and his son is being investigated by both the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).  The CBI has probed much aid of the Former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh which may be linked to the alleged money laundering and corruption case. With this, one more allegation has been charged on the former home minister for making use of “undue influence” over the transfer and posting of police officials as claimed by Param Bir Singh the Mumbai Police Commissioner.

The Former Home Minister of Maharashtra and the senior leader Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had skipped the summon sent by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) twice. The ED is said to have established money laundering of over Rs 80 crore by Deshmukh. The issue of money laundering came into focus when Deshmukh stepped down from the ministership of the Uddhav Thackeray-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.
