After 12 of its staff tested positive, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) shut down a private pathology facility in Dadar west on Saturday. On December 22, a 44-year-old staffer working in the lab pantry tested positive, according to BMC officials. While tracing the positive patient's contacts, 39 high-risk individuals were tested, and 12 of them were discovered to be positive. All 12 employees' contracts have been traced by the G/North ward office.

"None of the 12 patients live in the G/North ward. They live in various parts of Mumbai. Dr. Virendra Mohite, G/North ward medical officer, said the Free Press Journal, "We have supplied information to their respective wards." According to the Lal Pathology laboratory's information, it was simply a collecting lab with no outside visitors. "On January 3," he added, "the lab will be opened." The BMC has imposed limitations ahead of the New Year in response to the escalating number of instances. From 9 P.M. until 6 A.M., the state government has invoked Section 144.
