Abdul Sattar: if Gadkari offers a proposal with CM Thackeray, the Sena and the BJP will form a coalition in Maharashtra

On Tuesday, Shiv Sena Minister Abdul Sattar restarted discussions of reconciliation between the two parties, months after a clear denial of re-marriage between the Shiv Sena and the BJP. If government minister and veteran BJP leader Nitin Gadkari proposes Shiv Sena Chief and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, he believes it is possible. Sattar made his remarks after meeting with Gadkari, at a time when the Shiv Sena and the BJP are at a difference on a variety of issues, including the imposition of the President's rule in Maharashtra. It also happened during a spat between the Maha Vikas Aghadi government and the State Governor. Surprisingly, Sattar's comment has elicited no response from any of the party's leaders or spokespersons.

"If Union Minister Nitin Gadkari takes the proposal to Shiv Sena President and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, the two parties would join together." Shiv Sena and BJP would unite if Nitin Gadkari pays attention in the state. Gadkari holds the key to bringing the Shiv Sena and the BJP together," Sattar said. Sattar, who moved from the Congress in 2019 to join the Shiv Sena, went on to say that CM Uddhav Thackeray's wife Rashmi Thackeray is capable of overseeing the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in the state if elected. State BJP president Chandrakant Patil recently stated that if CM Uddhav Thackeray turns over power to Rashmi Thackeray, they will not be surprised.

Sattar’s remark has astounded Shiv Sena officials particularly when the party is in favors of the formation of a strong opposition front with Congress as its key partner against BJP. The Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi mini-UPA is doing well, according to Raut. He has thus given enough indications that the Shiv Sena is content with its new allies, the NCP and the Congress, and that it has no plans to reconcile with the BJP.
