Ahead of BMC Polls 2017, Shivsena Yuva chief Aaditya Thackeray has reiterated their stand of an extended mumbai night life by proposing a single window policy which will uplift the hospitality industry.

Aaditya is of the view than an average Mumbaikar’s day ends at 7pm and thereby the people deserve an extended timeline to enjoy the nightlife of Mumbai so as to have a healthy work and life balance.

At the India Nightlife Convention and Awards, Aaditya Thackeray said, “A single door policy will not only uplift the nightlife but will also boost the country’s economy. Also, I urge the industry to support the government by controlling and minimising the use of water, encourage garbage segregation and find ways to avoid wastage of food.”

He added, “How can something that is legal in the day become illegal after midnight? Mumbai is known for its safety and Mumbaikars must be trusted. Why only 1:30 am, I’m saying let them be open till 5am or 6 am.”

The proposal for an extended nightlife in Mumbai was first mooted by Aaditya and was passed by the BMC in 2013 and subsequently by the Mumbai police commissioner. However, at the moment it is still pending with the state government and is yet to be implemented.

Aaditya is of the view that this extended nightlife will help establish Mumbai as a tourism hub alongwith the tag of being the financial capital of the country. Owing to malls, theaters, food establishments, etc. staying open 24×7, it will help generate revenue and employment in Mumbai.
