The total number of people administered with the first dose of Covid 19 in the city of Mumbai has risen to more than 10 lakhs, as the vaccination drive was held at around 100 centres. This number of opened vaccination centres was the highest of all time. The people getting their first jab on Saturday were at 28,893, taking the total up to 10,00,031 getting their first dose of the 10.60 lakh eligible population.
The whole drive was planned, with receiving 50,000 Covishield and 4,380 Covaxin on Friday and the planning for Saturday was done by allotting 37,250 doses. 33 centres were having the first dose of vaccination for 18 years and above, which included Vashi, Nerul, Airoli General Hospitals and MCH, Turbhe having 2,500 doses each while Vishnudas Bhave Auditorium had a total of 600 doses, ESIS hospital having 1,000 and 250 doses available at each of the 23 Urban Primary Health Centres. Groma centre and APMC vegetable market had 300 doses each, while Inorbit and Seawood Grand Central malls had 250 doses each.
For September, the total number of vaccines received by the city of Mumbai was at 1.30 lakh of Covishield and 8610 doses of Covaxin. The total number of people from the age group of 18-44, 23,820 got their first dose of the Covid 19 vaccine. The total number of people between the age group of 44 years and 59 years getting their first dose of Covid 19 vaccination were at 4,342 with only 149 for the age group of 60 years and above getting their first dose of Covid 19 vaccine on Saturday.
