50 people for weddings, 20 for funerals': BMC put the new covid guidelines

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday released a list of new guidelines prohibiting social, political and religious affiliation in the wake of the increase in Covid-19 cases.  Witnessing the increase in cases, it is locked in to control the spread of the disease.  For the sixth day in a row, over 1,500 Covid-19 cases were registered in Mumbai on Monday.  The total tall serge to 3,43,947. 

 

Almost 1,712 more cases registered on Monday.  On the third day, it crossed the 1700 mark.  On Sunday, 1,962 cases were reported. According to the new guidelines issued by BMC, theatres - single screen, multiplex - hotels should operate at 50% capacity.  Social, political and religious gatherings will not be allowed until further notice.  The civic body has set a cultural cap on the 50th and 20th of the guest cap allowed for weddings.  All offices except health care and essential services must operate with 50% employees. 

 

BMC has also suggested working from home. During the last year of Pandemic, the spread of the disease was brought under control by implementing graded safety protocols, a method of preventing cluster infections in the country. Not only in Mumbai, are Pune and Thane, but many cities and towns in Maharashtra, including Vidarbha and Marathwada, witnessing an increase in Kovid-19 cases.  Lockdowns or restrictions have been put in place in many cities and districts of the state to prevent the spread of the virus.  According to BMC, 19% of patients in Mumbai and those who tested Covid-19 positive in January were living in multi - storey buildings in February this year, while the remaining ten percent were from slums and ditches. 

 

 

Of the 23,002 people who tested positive for covid - 19 in the first two months of this year, 19%t were living in buildings and 10 percent were from slums and ditches, the civil body said in a statement last week.BMC said the number of corona virus container zones and sealed buildings in the city increased by 170 percent and 66.42 percent, respectively.
