Mumbai: 39 out of 120 test positive in Byculla Women’s Jail for Covid 19
The Byculla Women’s Jail premises has been sealed by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) soon after the reports of 39 inmates were found to be infected with Covid 19. In a statement, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials stated that in the beginning, they had received some complaints stating that few of the inmates were having fever, and when they were examined three Covid 19 cases were detected in them. 
 
After the results of the three inmates who were found to be having the Covid 19 virus, a fever camp was led out by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC)where 36 more cases of Covid 19 were detected. “Very early it was being informed to the local health post that people are getting a fever in the jail after which it was decided to hold a fever camp on September 19 for the first time, a repeat camp was held after that,” stated Assistant Municipal Commissioner E ward Manish Walunja. 
 
As per the data released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) officials, 120 Covid 119 tests were conducted out of which 39 were tested positive for the Covid 19 virus. After the tests were done all were isolated at the Patanwala Municipal School in Mazgaon.  “The authorities have sealed the premises, and one person cannot be attributed in such scenario, only speculations are being made of this” stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official (BMC)
