32,000 jabs in seven days take Mumbai hospital to world record

A Private hospital in the city of Mumbai where more than 32,000 people were vaccinated in a week has made it to the Guinness World Records. The drive which was led by Surana Sethia Hospital went on, to inoculate vaccination to the citizens for 14 days, and a total of 50,000 citizens were able to get the vaccination dose. On an average the number of people who were being administered the vaccination dose each day were at 3,000, with the help of 60 staffers in the hospital.

“As the Covid 19 disease continues to emerge in waves, it becomes very important for the citizens to get vaccinated. The people who cannot afford to travel long distances are not in a good positon. That’s the reason why we collaborated with ICICI Lombard for this drive,” stated Dr Prince Surana, CEO, Surana Sethia Hospital.

Further he said that if such drives take place it will be good as it would help in development of immunity in the larger population. The people who have been inoculated with the vaccination were in a very large numbers, a huge response was received by us. We are really great full that we are part of such a vision to vaccinate everyone, that too in a very short period of time.

From August 7 to 14 the total number of registered citizens for this drive were at 30,467. During the same week more than 32,000 vaccinations were inoculated to the ones liveing in the slum clusters of Dharavi and Worli. People who have been vaccinated free of cost are at 50,000.

“Today too people have doubts regarding the vaccination. We are educating them and letting them know how important the vaccination is. They are provided with two forms, one is the medical form and the other form through which they are informed about the importance of vaccination and one needs to follow Covid 19 protocols,” added Dr Surana.
