Mumbai: Twenty-nine FIRs have been registered against motorists in Dahisar Czech Naka for lockdown violations on Friday, the first day of the state government’s imposition of new regulations in the wake of an increase in Covid-19 infections.

About 500 other motorists were not allowed to enter the city, and Dahisar was asked to return from Czech-Naka.  Police conducted a detailed inspection of a special lane open for vehicles wearing red stickers, indicating that the occupants of the vehicle were medical professionals, carrying medical equipment or traveling to a medical emergency.

We deployed 10 officers and about 42 constables to check on the Dahisar checkpoint throughout the day, "those who booked were on the road for no valid reason," he said.  With the exception of the new regulations, private passenger transport, buses, emergency or essential services or driver valid only 50% seating capacity.  These are not expected to be inter-district or inter-city, and should be confined to the passenger residence or inter-city as well as the passenger residence city.
