Mumbai News: Maharashtra to contribute 25% in Centre’s working women’s hostel scheme
Under the Centrally- sponsored scheme in the state, the Maharashtra cabinet on Wednesday approved to share 25 percent of the cost for constructing and running working women’s hostel. In the past time, the scheme which was cleared by the Centre in November 2017 was running under a cost-sharing basis between the Centre and non-governmental organisations (NGO) at the ratio of 75:25. According to the new scheme which has been revised the cost-sharing ratio between the Centre, state and NGOs will now be 60:25:15.

Implementation of a revised scheme will take place for the construction of a hostel for working women or granting the hostel building on rent-basis will be implemented. A statement from the Chief Minister’s office (CMO) stated that all the organisations or Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) which are going to implement a hostel scheme like this will be provided with an annual fund to use the building for rent. And just like the previous time, the process regarding the admission in the hostel and the facilities provided to the borders will remain the same.
