2000 parents from Mumbai sign the online petition for resuming physical classes for primary schools
With the Covid cases declining, and the state government easing curbs with the resumption of local trains then school and colleges. Though the primary classes continue, to be operated through online mode. In a recent breaking, a group of 2000 parents have come together in the city of Mumbai and signed an online petition to request the state government to start physical classes for the students studying in primary classes. 
 
The letter which was given to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray was an open letter, stating that their children as of now have not seen physical schools and are aware of the concepts via the online studies that are taking place, which is affecting the overall growth of their children and request that physical schools resume as soon as possible. 
 
“A lot of cases related to depression among children are decreasing day by day, they have stopped learning and are facing mental issues. As the covid, 19 cases situation was managed well by the state government by taking precautionary measures, but as now the whole world is opening and small children are visiting various places like restaurants, play areas, weddings and many other social gathering events. But on the other hand, not visiting schools, why are they shut,” asks a concerned parent who is one of the signatories.
 
Parents further stated that this open letter is just a form of request that has been made to the government of the state so as the government thinks in this regard, and we look forward to it. The open letter not urges Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray but also suggests the type of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that the government should consider. 
 
The parents further also assured that the state government and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will not be held responsible if in case the child gets infected with Covid 19 virus. This will be a very crucial decision that will have to be made by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), as a union of 2000 parents in the city of Mumbai have signed the online petition ahead of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections 2022.
