Water is supplied by these three reservoirs to the western suburbs and the southern part of the city.
The reason for the technical work led by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation is to improve the water system in these areas. The replacement work of the valves in the Bhandup complex will also be taking place on Tuesday.
“We are conducting all the required maintenance work to ensure that the water supply is increased in these areas of the city and for this, it will be necessary to connect two pipelines during which the water supply will have to be discontinued in several areas,” stated a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) official.
They further appealed to the citizens to co-operate with the civic body and store the required water for the day. Meanwhile, the water storage is sufficient in the seven lakes providing drinking water to the city which is at 73.86% due to the incessant rains in the past weeks, this water supply will last in the city till April 2022.
