12 Mumbai wards marked as risky by disaster management

Out of the 24 wards in Mumbai city, the disaster management has identified 12 wards that include Wards D, E, H East, K West, K West, P South, P North, R South, R North, L , M East and S wards vulnerable to flooding during heavy rainfall.
 
The wards have been marked risky as they include landslide prone areas, flooding spots and a number of dilapidated buildings.The ward officials have also been instructed to take extra measures to ensure minimum impact in case of flooding. Notices have also been issued by officials to private schools, located at the flooding spots, and dilapidated buildings.
 
There are a total of 284 landslide prone areas in the city and the maximum which is 161 lie in the L ward that includes areas like Kurla.
