BSP

Bahujan Samaj Party, commonly known as BSP, was founded by Kanshi Ram in 1984. It is a national political party recognized by the Election Commission of India. The party’s ideology is rooted in Ambedkarite principles and focuses on the upliftment of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), and religious minorities. BSP’s influence is strong in Uttar Pradesh, where it has formed the state government multiple times.

The BSP was formed with the mission to give political power to the Bahujan Samaj—a term that represents the majority population including Dalits, Adivasis, OBCs, and minorities. The party opposes caste discrimination and believes in social transformation through political power.
