The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) expressed its disapproval of BJP President JP Nadda's assertion that the upcoming mayor of Mumbai would be from his party. The MVA condemned Nadda's assertion during a gathering of the party's grassroots workers, urging them to exert maximum effort in order to secure the BJP's candidate as the next mayor of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

According to State Congress president Nana Patole, JP Nadda lacks influence within his own party and was unable to prevent its defeat in Karnataka.

Patole expressed astonishment at the BJP's national president involving himself in city mayor elections, suggesting that it won't be long before he starts deciding village panchayat sarpanchs as well.

The NCP spokesperson, Clyde Crasto, emphasized that in order for the BJP to secure the mayorship of the BMC, they should first participate in the BMC elections. However, Crasto alleged that the BJP is avoiding the elections because they anticipate a loss. He mentioned an internal survey conducted by the BJP, indicating that they would lose if elections were held at present. Crasto further asserted that the BJP's credibility suffered a blow due to their involvement in orchestrating the political coup, rather than gaining any voters by aligning with Shinde.

Sanjay Raut, the spokesperson of Shiv Sena (UBT), dismissed the predictions made by the BJP president, stating, " Wherever Nadda goes, his party loses elections. The most recent example of this is Karnataka."
