Sena asks civic administration to ‘immediately submit’ roads inquiry report to mayor

Shiv Sena leader Yashodhar Phanse moved a point of order motion in the general body meeting of the BMC on Thursday. Citing political pressure on Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta as the reason for the delay, Phanse asked the civic administration to submit the report immediately to Mayor Snehal Amberkar.

Corporators from other parties have demanded an explanation about the delay in making the report public and criticised the civic administration for the same.

Yashodhar Phanse said that even after the mayor has formally asked the commissioner for the report ,it has been more than 48 hours but the administration has still not responded possibly because they are under some kind of pressure.

While Asif Zakaria, the congress corporator called the inquiry process to be a hogwash. He said that the contractors in the desilting scam and in this case are bidding tenders and repeatedly getting the projects.

Snehal Amberkar, the mayor had earlier written a confidential letter to civic chief reporting a huge roads scam and asked for an enquiry into the matter
