Mumbai corporator moots disabled-friendly parks

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Jyotsna Mehta has tabled a proposal for gardens to be made in each ward for physically challenged people.The demand has been made through a notice of motion which will be discussed soon by the BMC.

“There are so many people in the city visiting recreational spots that the disabled are left with very little space to move around freely. Besides, especially in the case of disabled children, they cannot enjoy the rides as there is nothing built in a manner accessible to them.

The corporator said that rides which can be used by the disabled is being built by her at Kamala Nehru Park in her Malabar Hill ward (D).The rides is planned to be made in such a way that wheelchair-bound people can reach up to the rides.
